A Reason for Everything that Happens

Do you believe there is a reason for everything that happens? I grew up in church and was taught that God has a plan and a reason for everything. I believed this for many years. Then when I lost my child it all went out the window. I am not sure what I believe any more. How can anyone say there is a reason you lost your child... he is in a better place... etc etc etc.? Apparently the ones who say this have never lost a child. Sometimes the less you say is better. Listening and being there for those who grieve is so important. Your thoughts? Do you believe in God's plan? Why would he take a child? My world? If that is correct, I do not want any part of that plan.

I do not believe it was God´s plan to take your child from you.
I do believe there is a God, but to have a child die before you do is the ultimate loss.
It is not something I think I would have an answer for or that I would be able to bear at all.

There are times that I feel the same way and honestly all I know is that God made a promise to us and he said those who survive til the end will have eternal life . One day I believe all of the evil will be over and will be happy in heaven.

My sincerest sympathy for your loss. But as you said, better not to say anything but just to listen.

I am not religious and never have been.
My mum was quite religious so I did go to church and sunday school and such but never really believed...I've even read the whole bible
I do not personally believe there is some great plan I believe we go through life and its twists and turns are based on our choices, circumstance and luck...and a lot of other stuff.
I can't see any positives from the loss of a child but I know many religious people would disagree and I can see why but, on this area, I'll keep my mouth shut.

I believe because Every word that's is written in the Bible is True.everything happens for a good cause. Because God wants to do some thing better for us.he knows what is better and safe for us.Because he is a God not men.we must follow him.
