my neighbors are jerks

Dear neighbors on the other side of the back fence... Look, I get that your oldest son has a lot of energy. I get that it's difficult to manage that energy. I understand that a good way for him to work off that energy is to jump around and be active outside, and when he has cousins visiting it's great for them to all get outside and play together. I get that you're fortunate enough to either own a bouncy castle or wealthy enough to rent one whenever you like, and that a bouncy castle is a great spot for jumping and being active. But I do not appreciate getting woken up before 8am on a Sunday morning by half a dozen children screaming outside at the top of their lungs and what sounds like someone banging on a large bass drum over and over again (which is how it sounds when said half dozen kids are jumping up and down in a bouncy castle). I also don't appreciate that someone else who you woke up lost their temper and yelled in their backyard that you woke him up before 8am on the night after he worked a late shift (although I totally understand why he responded the way he did). Seriously, teach your kids to respect their neighbors. Otherwise, I have a long hose and I'm not afraid to use it. Signed, Your tired and cranky neighbor (whose entire house was unhappily awake by 8:15am on a weekend).

Send an angry cat over to the bouncy house!

I really considered walking around the block and banging on their front door, crazy bed head hair and all.

@spiderdust I would of. Isn't there a noise ordinance. You could of called and reported them.

This can be tough Kelli. You do not want to use the hose or they will get back to you. Any chance to talk to the people there.Or report it to someone?

I'm just not sure who to report it to. While they're annoying, they technically aren't breaking the law.

On Sundays we are requested not to make noise and not to annoy the neighbors. If something like this should happen at 8 in the morning on Sunday I know what I would do, get the phone, call the police.

@spiderdust I am sorry, not here, noises during rest hours are taken like a very serious matter.

In this case, at least here, this wouldn't be a police matter. Kids in a bouncy house would be pretty low on their priorities.

It really is. I get irritated when they pull out the bouncy castle (and they do often), but before 8am?

Poke a hole in the castle when they're not around. Might help!

That's rude of both the children and the adults. But especially the adults, as they should definitely be teaching their kids respect and about noise levels at certain times when outside.
