Sportspersons and their eccentricities, superstitions and unique comments

Sportspersons face and conquer many challenges. They practice for hours, sometimes face undue criticism for only simple mistakes or dip in their form. Yet some of them have some unique characteristics, say some remarkably funny or unusual comments or have some superstitions. Some which I recall : 1.Ivan Lendl who did not got as much success in Wimbledon as in French Open once saying: "Grass is for cows". 2.Sunil Gavaskar was very afraid of dogs. Once a dog entered the field during a match when he was batting. The dog was escorted out but he was so disturbed that he got out in a short while! 3.Bjorn Borg wore same FILA shirt and grew a beard while preparing for Wimbledon and won 5 times in succession. I also remember one player who always used to wear left shoes before right but can't recollect his name. And I suppose there would be a lot more too !
