What you see in the image that design is called cold shoulder - probably because the shoulders are exposed to cold wind? I have no intention to expose my shoulders to cold wind. I do not need to do that even if I want to give a 'cold shoulder' to anyone.

I knew that those shirts are called "cold shoulder", last year they were very popular, not so much this year. When my husband noticed some women wearing them immediately told me "never buy one, they make women shoulders unattractive". I would have not bought, I do not like.

Fashion designers have lost the mind but those who encourage them have no sense of modesty.

@LadyDuck Our bodies had great respect but these days they expose them thus cheapening them.

@allknowing I fully agree with you, I have seen women in their late 60's wearing those shirts, not at all appropriate.

I actually like this style but I didn't know that's what it was called! Here it is quite warm and people wear tank tops and such all the time - we mostly do not have cold shoulders here . But I can't say for those who "give" the cold shoulder .

@allknowing I own only one shirt with this cut . . . but the style and fabric is much more casual. I did not wear this shirt all last school year . . . because my little son's teacher and I already get mistaken for each other (we do look like we are from the same family) . . . and we have very similar fashion taste. SHE wears many dresses with this "cold shoulder". I did not need to wear anything that would make me continue to look like her twin .

@much2say Any reason would be good enough I suppose to give up wearing such outfits.

Giving a cold shoulder is the right expression. I have edited my activity. Thank you. So you are the one who has encouraged fashion designers to create such fashions Hope you have enough 'will power' to hold the dress.

This is a nice design and it is fine, as long as the women won't feel cold to wear like this in cold weather

Atleast this dress has support of straps. Most cold shoulder dresses survive on will power (lol)

That is a new definition for cold shoulder. I though you meant some one gave you a cold shoulder. They turned their back on you.

@allknowing It used to be one of my favorite. Now I don't wear them so often. I have only one top with such kind of shoulder.

I don't like the cold shoulder trend. I actually saw a little girl (I think she was around 10 years old) in church with a cold shoulder shirt on. I thought it was bad taste to let her out of the house looking like that.

These fashion designers should know better than to design such clothes for kids leave alone a mother choosing such clothes for their kids.

We get used to seeing this after a while but I suppose one did raise their eyebrows when the fashion just started. I remember it took me a long time to wear something sleeveless (lol)

But those days exposing a shoulder was not in fashion. So you had to give a cold shoulder some other way.
