On Wednesday I texted my nephew and asked him if he planned to spend the weekend here. He said he was, and I told him I was glad because that meant I wouldn't be alone.
Tomorrow is when two of my family members will be going up to the mountains to a reunion. I would have liked to go but someone needed to be here at the house. This house is very creepy when you are alone and so I am glad I will have my nephew here to keep me company.
Of course, there's a chance they will come back tomorrow evening, but their plan is to spend the night and visit with more family and then come home midday on Sunday.
Meanwhile, maybe I can get to some cleaning I am not normally able to get to. We shall see.
What does your weekend look like?
*As an aside, I'll try to get to everyone's responses on all my discussions but I can't promise anything!

He's not so little anymore. He's 18!
He likes to pester, but luckily he was asleep until 1 pm.

@ScribbledAdNauseum That's even better, he can help you with your work if you can keep him awake.

@ScribbledAdNauseum In front of the town house they prepare a large open fire where chestnuts are roasted and distributed to the population. There are usually stalls that sell local products.

It sounds like you will have fun over the weekend. At least you won't have to spend it alone . Enjoy your weekend

That's open to interpretation. My nephew likes to be a pester, but you get used to it after awhile.

I don't like the sound of that creepy house.
How old is your nephew?

He's 18.
Yes, it can be really creepy here. Just the layout and the natural sounds of an older house, not to mention things echo up from the lot beside us, which is a little lower than our house.

@Courtlynn Ours was built in 74. I don't mind the older houses, they have their own personalities.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I'm so glad our place is only 40 years old. Anything older and i'd probably freak.

Yes, I understand that, being alone does make you feel like you are the only one you need to worry about.
The place I live is a suburb but there is noise around me. The house next door? That lot echoes up to ours, so it doesn't matter if they aren't trying to be loud, if they are outside, we can hear it.

Well at least you'll have a little break from the other two household members. I am hoping that next week is moving week. Fingers crossed.

Oh, that would be good! Are you going to take a day off to do the moving or will you just have to do things before and after work?

I've been home alone this past week and it's a bit unsettling. Hope your nephew comes to keep you company

When I wrote this, he was already here.
I guess my wording was open to interpretation though.
Yes, well this house is so creepy at night. There are several places where people could hide. My bedroom is on the opposite side from where the kitchen is. I have to pass the front door to get to the other part of the house as well.
