You don't know me very well if you thought I could resist going to the thrift store after getting a gift card from a family member.
I had a voucher for $8.81 with me as well and used it for part of it so that I didn't have to spend as much of my gift card.
On Folly Beach By Karen White $6.50
Domino By Phyllis A. Whitney $1.00
Heading Out To Wonderful by Robert Goolrick $2.50
Twain's End By Lynn Cullen $7.50
The Nature Of Monsters by Clare Clark $4.00
The Forgotten Garden By Kate Morton $3.00
Vienna Twilight By Frank Tallis $2.50
Mrs. Poe by Lynn Cullen $3.00
You might remember me talking about Mrs. Poe in one of my previous discussions. I've read it before, and I've wanted to read Twain's End by the same author. I was so pleased to find them.
The Robert Goolrick book caught my eye because I've read and enjoyed another book by the same author.
I should probably get to arranging these books to my liking...

Yes I was very happy. My sister is paying me for taking care of her furry children. I wasn't expecting $100.00 in payment but I'm happy. That will pay for a lot of books.

@JustBhem Yes it is. Had she asked me, I would have told her $30.00 was enough.

Always nice to find the books you want. Sometimes they go out of print.

I had read the Mrs. Poe either on scribd or on amazon in the past.
Both of those books were on the bottom shelf. It was lucky that I saw them.

@celticeagle Now I am wanting to go back and buy more but I keep telling myself to wait. That if I wait I'll find new and different ones, but I don't know. I have $70 odd dollars to spend from her gift card.

This is *technically* a corporation and not an independent store. They have several locations but it IS a thrift store, just media related.
Yep, I'd seen gift cards at the store when I've gone.

I don't believe I have heard of any of them. I wish I could motivate myself to read a little more..but when I have extra time..I usually am into streaming. I am slowly reading one book though..and will probably get a few others now, that I fully understand how overdrive works.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I have always been a reader..but not as much now as I used to be. Too many other interesting things to do.

I know reading isn't for everyone. I used to subscribe to audible, and while it was nie, it was too expensive for my tastes.

@snowy22315 I understand that. I get where I read a lot and then I stop, rinse and repeat. Sometimes it's all about watching t.v. instead.

The thrift store I go to has a lot of authors I've never heard of. Including a lot of copies of the classics.

I want to go by the thrift store before work today, but since I'm packing I really don't need to go. I may peruse the books at work today if I get a chance on break.
The monster one sounds interesting. I need to buy "An Absolutely Remarkable thing" by Hank Green on Kindle after I get paid. It's written by the author of Paper Towns and A Fault in our stars brother. Should be interesting.

I may have to look into that book myself. There are a few I need to buy based on books I've just read, but honestly I ned to get the rest of this shelf sorted. I need to go to the dollar tree (might do that tomorrow) and get some containers to put some of my things in. Like my wax melts.
Does the dollar tree have photo albums? There's one I need to throw away because it's really damaged.

@ScribbledAdNauseum yeah. They should. Sometimes you have to dig. But we have a few different kinds. If you ask, they might be able to tell you where. Our store has them either with the notebooks and binders or with the frames. Since we're getting into the holiday season, they should have more. They make good stocking stuffers.
I am off today and tomorrow so I don't plan on doing anything. After payday this week I do plan on ordering some stuff off the website like a case of storage containers etc

@thislittlepennyearns Okay, I will look the next time I go.
I stopped by family dollar on the way back from my sister's yesterday but I forgot to look.
I'm not really planning on going anywhere except for the grocery store this week. I think I"ll wait a few weeks before I go to the thrift store again, but I can make a stop at the dollar tree before going to walmat.

I have a big bookshelf that isn't even close to being full, but there are some things I need to clean off of it. I just dont' know exactly what to do with some of the stuff.
I looked at the cook books the thrift store had but none of them really jumped out at me. They have a section for celebrity cookbooks but I was looking at the low carb cookbooks myself.
