“In my dreams, I never have an age.” ~ Madeleine L'Engle Tomorrow, the 15th October marks the BIRTHDAY of my eldest daughter who ventures into her mid-thirties with the energy of a teenager. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR GIRL! I always remember every moment of the day she was born without fail, and the memories of her growing up remind me, I did her well. Now that she is married, she shares more and more of her special days with her hubby and their younger friends, and I find myself feeling very aged in this moment as I watch her grow up and move forward in life. Elton John states it quite clearly in his beautiful song "the circle of life" from the movie The Lion King: "From the day we arrive on the planet And blinking, step into the sun There's more to see than can ever be seen More to do than can ever be done It's the circle of life And it moves us all Through despair and hope Through faith and love Till we find our place On the path unwinding In the circle The circle of life . . . " Just beautiful Melancholy holds me prisoner as I face another 'child' loss in a few weeks time. Summer is almost upon us in SA, and the first rains fell yesterday nourishing the dry earth with the food from the heavens. We are blessed. PS: Thank you to everyone who offered advice on my previous post regarding onychoschizia, I have gotten myself some vitamin E cream to rub in every night, Biotin and Folic acid with a vitamin B complex and I shall keep you all updated on the hopeful progress.

My Mum was in hospital after a hip replacement at 99. My brother and sister are twins. An orderly took her a ride in her wheelchair and they met a couple with brand new twins, Mum was very interested in the babies and said 'I have twins but mine are 70'. I hope I haven't told you this before.

@Inlemay No but I've written it in a comment somewhere. I'm at the age where I'm starting to repeat myself. :(

I wish to your daughter a very happy birthday. My niece has turned 33 last July, I cannot believe she is already an adult women and no more a young "pest".

Happy birthday to your grownup little girl, Lany. None of us is getting any younger, but I comfort myself, when my mood is low, by thinking about the fact that my children carry my genes, my blood, and so I am living through them. Although it is the natural order of things that our children make their own lives, that umbilical cord can be hard to let break.
