Play it Again, Sam #2a - "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction"

Here we are, oh, so close to the finish line. So why does it feel as if Play it Again, Sam, might take a year to finish? As always, Play it Again, Sam is a two part discussion consisting of an original song followed by a cover of that song. We are at #2a, the "original:" "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" by The Rolling Stones.
I haven't bothered going back and looking, but I'm pretty sure that the Stones have appeared as the "original" more than any other music act in this series. Which means that they are revered by a hell of a lot of bands, because there are a lot of Rolling Stones covers out there for the choosing.
"(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" could very well be considered the Stones' most popular tune. The 1965 song was the band's first #1 single here in the United States. Keith Richards claims to have written the song in his sleep, saying that the tape recording consists of some acoustic guitar followed by 40 minutes of him snoring.
Nevertheless, Richards' opening guitar riff is one of rock music's most iconic, most instantly recognizable. Ironically, he originally intended to replace that riff with horns, but was out voted by the rest of the band.
The song was an international smash, reaching the Top 10 in a total of 10 countries, and hitting #1 in all but two of those.
Just think about how successful it might have been had a soundbite of Keith Richards snoring been included! Or not.

I could have easily went with Otis Redding, but yeah, you're correct. I do have a very good reason, as you have probably already seen.

Yeah, it's actually kind of weird seeing them when they were so young. Especially Keith.

@JudyEv - No,not really. Hell, even back in the 80's, Charlie Watts looked like he was already in his 70's!

The Stones performed this on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1966. The line "Trying to make some girl" was bleeped out by censors. In 2004 Rolling Stone placed "Satisfaction" second greatest song of all-time. One of my favorite Stone's songs!!!

@dgobucks226 - Return appearance:
Sullivan: "Ladies and gentlemen, The Doors! But without their wildly charismatic singer!"

@teamfreak16 I know Jim Morrison from the Doors famously crossed up the sensors on Ed Sullivan and sang the lyrics as is.... For some reason Ed did not invite him back on the show again, lol.
