I haven't been on for a week or two but tonight I got on and have been reading and noticed that the site is not secure. Do all of you see this or is it just my site. Worries me a little bit that its not secure and makes me wonder why! I thought Mylot was always a secure site, what info could people get from our accounts or on things we post?? Is this a big problem, should I be worried? Any info would be appreciated.

You receive this messages because myLot is still a http site and not a https, so some browsers warn that it's not secure. Do not worry it is a safe site.

@cintol Sometimes the browsers make updates and then you get different messages.

Nothing to worry about, there are many sites like this and there is no problem. Http or https(secure) doesn't mean one is bad and the other good. Guess you wouldn't post your credit card details on a secure site, right? In the end, what matters is what data you are sharing.

@cintol well, my account is empty most of the time. If someone gets it, maybe they will send some money, out of good will .

I think you have gotten some good explanations. I did not know why, but once or twice in the last three years I have gotten that notice. I have ignored it.

Yeah, I have gotten lots of good comments, with todays world I just always worry when anything says unsecure on the internet, I won't worry too much about this one though.

I've noticed that as well but am not concerned. When you consider how many supposedly "Safe" sites have been hacked, Facebook, the Pentagon, Citibank, etc, one has to wonder what really is safe online. The answer is that nothing is really safe online.

I guess your right DW, never really thought of it that way. I won't worry about it then as I don't have anything personal here.

Yes, I've noticed it. I don't think you need to worry as this is not a site you give any vital information on. You're not using any credit or debit cards. You're not giving any personal information of any kind.

Yes, not sure the security is all it could be on this site, but many sites are like that, so I am not too worried.

It hasn't caused me any real concern. I'm not doing anything on the site on the day to day that would compromise any of my information anyway. I know it isn't affecting the payment information because that isn't being exposed by just logging into the site.

Yes it was one of the first things I noticed when I joined. But then I realized most sites are not secure these days. My photos are copyrighted but other than that I am not concerned.

Yeah, I don't worry about it anymore, scammers just get into everything so its a little unnerving sometimes not knowing what they will do with info they get into.

seems safe enough - the only stuff they'll get on us is what we post publicly - as payments go to Paypal, no one accesses our bank details here
