Blocking Glitch? Or my ignorance?

So, I've just been notified that I've blocked someone. It would have been completely by accident but I didn't block them at all. I go to their page and I have no option to block, message, or follow them at all.
I know I didn't block them because I hadn't been to their page before. I'm not sure what's going on but it's really odd. I'm either ignorant (accidentally did something and don't know what or how) or it's a glitch of some sort.
Has anyone else had this happen?

If there are no options for you on the person's profile, then they have blocked you, not the other way round! Check whether there's a 'Respond' button on any of their discussions &c. If there isn't then that's definitely what's happened.

To my knowledge, I never accidentally blocked anyone. I think someone might have accidentally blocked me..as we never had any negative discourse..but who knows? I don't flatter myself to think I am everyone's cup of tea.

I haven’t been active lately but I’ve seen two sides. Where someone was blocked and the other person asked me to let them know - but they did intentionally knowingly block.
I also encountered people who said they accidentally were blocked but did not press it.

Yes, I've seen both of those sides as well. I know, you and a few others have been MIA lately. Of course I know you have to be busy with the little details of your upcoming wedding and everything.

people who blocked me kept commenting on my discussions. 
I think the best fix with the block button, is to manually type the username of the person we really want to block. A block list can prevent accidental blocks.

That's a great idea! The necessity of typing in the name would certainly put an end to accidental blocking!

There is a "block button glitch" and it happens all the time that you are blocked by people who did not mean to block you. This button is a source of problems, it must go.
I noticed that I have been blocked by one user with whom I was in touch all the time and we were friend, I suppose it's the block button glitch.

Same here, on both accounts. The blocking feature is somewhat silly in my opinion.
