Claudia is finding a new house for me.

I just received a call from Claudia. She had gone to see a person who worked selling and buying houses and asked him whether he had a house near her house. He also needed to set a price to my house. Claudia wants me to sell my house, if possible, and buy another one near her house. That is not an easy task because the land where Claudia lives is very expensive, more than where I live, although my house is better than hers. She wants me to live near her when I´m older. But although I like the idea, it is not as easy as it seems. She will take me to see the houses with the realtor next week. I would prefer to live nearest her too. I accepted. As long as it is a house and not an apartment, I don´t mind.

It's hard to quit the house where we live. I understand you would like to live closer to your daughter, I am not sure I would accept to move.

It would have to be at the same block or so. And her neighborhood is one I know as I used to live there. But it would have to be good in terms of money and, as I said, almost next door.

Its not easy leaving a home that you are accustomed to her but she has a great idea. Probably she has an idea of how to top up the amount

What she does have is the wish to have me near when I´m older. That means a lot. But my daughters are not aware that I live on a small budget.

It can be difficult to do. I do understand her wanting you to be closer, but I also understand wanting to stay where you are.

@dodo19 I would love to live near her. But if I sold this house, I´d like to find a place less expensive and smaller so that I can have some money left.

I would be happy if it was very close to her. I am 73 years old and anything can happen. It would be easier for me to tke care of me if I was near. But it would have to be in my terms.

What we want is very hard to find. And if I don´t find it, I will not move.

@Deepizzaguy I´m fine now. But I have to think of what will happen when I get older.

Think before you consider it. I also can relate, I miss our old house and the people I usually talk to and play with.

That would not suit her. She has a wonderful house of the right size for her needs and close to the metro. My house is too big for me and too far from public transportation.

I have the feeling that you DON'T want this. If it is so, then, tell your daughter RIGHT AWAY. Do not let anyone influence you for this important decision. We are not selling our house.

I am not in a hurry, it is true. But I also can understand that I´m getting older by the minute. There are many things that I cannot do now and Leticia will not be able to work much longer. I don´t have the money to pay for a maid that will do what I don´t want and with no love included.

I know it is hard for you to let go of your house where you raised your children.

Actually, that’s a great idea because you can spend more time with Claudia. I hope you’d be able to find one that you really like. Good luck!
