A Family Day in the Capital

Ireland
October 29, 2018 6:04pm CST
Today our entire family, the five of us, converged on Dublin, where we had a nice wander around in the fine autumn sunshine, ate a top-class vegetarian lunch in Cornucopia, and visited the Dublin Wax Museum. Here's a collage of a few photos I took. The big one on the right combines an 1899 shot of O'Connell Bridge (public domain) with my own. I think it's important to stay in touch with family members and meet up regularly when possible. We always find fun stuff to do!

Always worth paying a visit to Molly's statue, or to Arthur's Emporium of Malted Barley drinks...

@NormanDarlo The last time I was there, I was in the vicinity of the Leaning Coke Can - Impressive from the outside, a great view as you descend the escalators on the inside.

I've never visited Arthur's Emporium, believe it or not, though I have, over the years, played my part in its upkeep. They moved Molly, it seems, so she wasn't where I expected to meet her on Grafton Street.

We experienced here yesterday the most horrible weather since the day we bought this house 19 years ago. It's not over yet.

I surely do, Courage. Both my parents were born there, as was I, though I haven't lived there since the 1980s.
