The Story In The Song Lemon Jelly Nice Weather For Ducks

A real oddity of a song from 2003 with just a single line, "All The Ducks Are Swimming In The Water", followed by a catchy tune that seems both simple and complex. It draws on and samples refrains from the mind of John Longstaff, a music revivalist who encouraged children to learn music in the 1970's. He was inspired by Morris dancing, mummers plays and paganism.
The official video is very strange. Some youths feed ducks before finding a story book that they seem to get sucked into, reappearing as Robin Hood, an Egyptian God, and various other figures. They play around, fight with toy swords and vanish - it mixes child-like fun with the Blair Witch Project and the music gets literally psychadelic before the boys are seen again safe and sound.
The tune and its single simple line stay with you. Many hated this song, but I really love it.

So those kids are popping acid? Some adventure would be expected. Not too fond of this.
