My succulents are getting their beautiful winter colors

Surprised!! Yes in the tropics the succulents and cactus bloom during summer months but look a little washed out because of the harsh day light. In winter there is a slight dip in temperatures especially at nights and the beautiful foliage changes colors. The Crassula Campfire in this picture goes from tinges of red to hues of peach and pink. The jelly bean succulents turn red and look luscious like tiny grapes.
I love my succulents and cactus. They do well here and thrive even in neglect. This year alone I have gifted about fifty plants to my friends. Around Christmas time I will be sending out some more. These beauties are always in demand among my friends who claim to have brown thumbs.
I love planting them in the tiniest pots and they look quite dramatic. However they don't do poorly indoors. They need about 6-8 hours of sunshine to flourish. Mine have been growing wild as you see in this picture. Most of them have been divided and potted a few dozen times over.
Do you like gardening? Do you like cactus and succulents?

Oh that one in the middle, Crassula Campfire is a beauty. Though, all succulents are beautiful and of course all plants.
You are gifted with a green thumb. That's how we call people who plants even the most difficult plant and it will grow beautifully. I don't have that though.

@SIMPLYD Yes the one in the middle. It was a lovely green until a few days ago. True, all plants are beautiful.
No, I don't believe anyone has brown thumbs, I have killed so many plants when I started.. Now, I have some experience to back me and know what each plant needs. That is the only difference.

Succulents are easy to grow. They need very little maintenance. The only thing they do not like is too much water.
Those are colourful succulents you have there.

@sofssu You are right about vegetables and here we have birds that destroy the tender plants although our garden is loaded with other greenery.

@allknowing They sure are non fussy. I grow a lot of veggies but they take so much energy and work.

I enjoy gardening but my Christmas cactus is there only cactus I own. I did have a lucky bamboo that did well for several years that was low maintenance.
I do well with plants when I remember it have the time to water them.

@MarshaMusselman forcing blooms can be done just by placing the potted plants in a plastic bag with ice in a saucer and sealing the bag airtight . You could also try leaving it in the garage or cellar for a couple of nights. In our case we just leave them outside, the dipping night temperatures are enough to naturally make them bloom.

@sofssu what type of weather do they need? Some of the homes up here might be too warm for them, but I don't know. I've noticed you used flowers on some of your older posts too. Are those all from your garden or houseplants?
I found a link for the holiday cacti and it says the homes should get somewhat chilly to force blooms but we don't let it get quite that cold, yet they bloom at least yearly it's not more than once.
