It never fails, strange things on the streets of Portland

Every time I go up to Portland, Oregon, 100 miles north of my home, I spend some time with my daughter and her Chihuahua and take that four pound dog for a walk. Every time, I see stuff left along the sidewalk to be taken and, maybe, used by others. I wrote a while back about a set of knives lying along the sidewalk. This time I saw a child's car seat that has been out there for few weeks, but the strangest thing was this picture frame, sitting on a wall. I took the photo and I guess the framed shot looks like one of those that they put in frames in stores. But, maybe it is more than that. Maybe it is a photo of a woman someone loved once who went away and the picture became painful to have around. It could have been donated to a thrift store, but there it is, sitting on a wall along a Portland street.

@JamesHxstatic May be it was only a decoration in a store window.

Kind of like found art. Gruesome question for you: that photo wasn't there as a tribute to somebody departed? I sure hope not.

No idea at all, it was just sitting there.

@JamesHxstatic - Whenever I wander through a thrift store, I often wonder about some of the items I see there, not the clothing and kitchen items, but the artwork, decorator items, gift items, etc. Who did they belong to? How did they end up in a thrift store? Did someone once love this item and display it proudly in their home?

Yes, it is always a question, especially family photos.

That is strange to sound, who would put the picture there ?The figure in the picture frame must be a film star.

I live about 80 miles or so from Portland and when I venture further in past OHSU, I see quite a bit of things that make you go hmmm. Back in CA when I lived in an apt, I'd go out to take the trash and would see items set out by the trash bin. One time was a nice mountain bike. I took it and put out word in case it was stolen and left there but the person who put it there contacted me and said he was moving and couldn't fit it in his car.

That is quite unique!! Wonder how it got on the wall!! It definitely came with the picture frame!! She may have reminded him of his long lost girl!!!
