On Saturday my GF had an appointment for blood test and the place to have it done was at the local hospital. I hate going to hospitals, clinics, any sort of medical place. I don't like seeing sick and injured people coming in.
It was empty when we got there. She waited in a smaller room that was close to where she was going to go. I decided to wait at the entrance lobby, which is also the emergency entrance.
To one side I saw cubicles set up for blood pressure checks. I'd hate to be in
there, out in the open where people can see me getting checked. I'm too much of a private person. After a few minutes, people started to come in. One looked very sick and tired. Another not so much. But then I saw two people come in for the wheelchairs that are by the entrance. An elderly couple followed them in.
The lady was a bit hunched over and had a bloody towel to her face. A couple minutes later a wheelchair came in with a lady who was too weak to walk. Then the next wheelchair came in.
Guess where his buddy parks him, yup, across and in front of me. I saw the guys left foot bent inwards at the ankle in a perfect 90 degrees. The side of his foot resting flat on the foot rest. I'm no doctor, but i'm positive its broken. His foot looked very snug and portly in the sneaker compared to the other loose fitting one.
Then my gf comes out and says shes done, and as we're walking to the car, she asks if I was okay in the waiting room, I told her its a good thing im not squeemish about seeing blood and broken bones.

I am a caregiver so I see this all the time. I have had my fill so after this job I am not doing it anymore for money. The e.r waiting area is the filthiest place, I would NEVER wait there because I just know I would catch all of their disease.

I'm glad you survived, even for just 30 minutes. I would have been secretly mortified seeing those people in pain and bleeding.

I love Hospital. We have a huge and very busy one near us which trains lots of students. I can happily sit in the concourse and watch what goes on.

You're a good BF to wait in the ER for your GF. Not a fun place to be.

I've spent more than my fair share of time in a hospital. I had meningitis three years ago and spent almost three weeks in a hospital.
