What is rare gets more attention

I have these flowers which we call velvet flowers that grow profusely in my garden with not much care. They are deep blue and have a velvet finish. Because of their easy availability not much importance is given to them, In the same category there is another colour which is not seen frequently and when my friend brought me a sapling of this I was so excited and there it is in one of my pots getting all the attention. Guests look at that plant and show amazement. I have uploaded both the varieties and you will see for yourself the one that grows profusely is prettier than the one that is rare. But that is the irony of life

Well, I like so much more the pink color that for me the "rare" is prettier.

That is no surprise. Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder (lol)

@allknowing This is true, I wonder if I can turn my purple hyacinths into pink hyacinths, I fear not.

I had a friend that did not like violets because they grew a lot where he lived. He called them weeds

Even if it is not prettier that will fetch more attention just because it is rare.

You seem to pay a lot of attention to gardening. So how many plants do you keep?

It's people who give value to everything as how they perceive it to be rare, exotic, hard to find etc..otherwise a diamond would just be another stone

That is a good example talking about the diamond.

We have the pink one growing wildly here the blue is rather rare. Irony indeed.

Any flowers that grow are beautiful and a great source of food for bees!
