i have noticed something in the last few months since my full hysterectomy.. no more oily skin. my skin was always quite oily before..as in need a ton of clearisil even in my 40's.. now? it's perfect. i rarely breakout now. this is awesome. ..of course finally getting to kick "aunt flo" out after 39 years rocks too. i won't miss the b*tch.

Are you on hormone replacement theraphy after the full hysterectomy? I was also operated for Total abdominal Hysterectomy when I was 38 year old. I was on HRT for 5 years. Then I withdrew when my hubby told me to stop because I might get cancer from it. A month after the full withdrawal, wrinkles around my eyes appeared. I had have hot flushes and every now and then it still manifests. I am officially old when that happened.

I think you have to be the first person I ever heard speak of benefits from this operation. I do remember being very glad to be of an age when Auntie Flo stopped visiting. It saved a fortune!

I think I finally get it, I haven't had those kinds of problems in about 25 years, no surgery was required

I guess it changes your hormones, that sounds amazing. I am 31 and still have teenage style breakouts it drives me mad! It's good to find the silver lining in all situations x

Sorry to say, being a man, I cannot understand the pains associated with hysterectomy.

@scarlet_woman many things we think are unfortunate have a hidden upside, but we need to find them and use them to our advantage
