Portrait Season

It has started going into full swing. Families and couples getting cleaned up for the annual christmas photograph session. People getting dressed up in their festive holiday clothing and stand or sit in front of a winter seasonal themed backdrop of either a cabin with a tree and snow falling outside the window with a fireplace. Or even scene of nature, outdoors with snow and trees and maybe a deer. Or perhaps a cartoonish drawing of over sized gifts and a nutcracker soldier.
Then there is the always popular sit down with Santa Claus! And with it comes the thundering cries of little children and babies showing thier seasonal fear of the great bearded man in red white trimmed pajamas creeping you out with the knowledge that he always sees you no matter what you're doing. Always sees you. Always. (no. not cringey at all . . . right?)
I have never taken a christmas photo. Never felt the need or urge to . . . till now. I feel like going over the top with a photo for the main reason being that my GF thinks my christmas spirit is not that spirity. I figure I may as well have fun with it and show her proof that I am not afraid of winter cabins or allergic to ornamented trees. But to also prove that I do know santa and he knows me.

I don't understand the American habits of a) sending family photos as cards, and b) loving Halloween more than Christmas. You're a funny bunch. *grin*

That's remind me of taking photo of my family. We need to do it as Christmas is getting near.

I've not seen an animated image in here before. But this reminds me that I have something I can use this season from Barry, whom we all miss.
We don't usually send out cards anymore and therefore don't do the pictures either. My husband's had been wanting to put something together for a few years. I recently got some news Christmas frames from my house printer online that may try, but if we try it well do pic at home not with Santa, who by the way does not know out lives.

@Plethos with kids any of them are fine. For adults only why does it need to be with any of them, hmm? We aren't putting a tree up either so not doing any of that.

Well, send some of that spirit over here. I have none and actually dread the holidays.

? I'm not in the Christmas spirit just yet - sorry, but I have Thanksgiving to think and finish first. Do you think Santa would like some turkey?

, isnt a selfie when your photographing yourself only, with no one? wouldnt that be a couples photo?
