Do you think a non-Asian will be ever be as good as an Asian?

I have a curious thought/interesting question. I think without a doubt when anyone says the words "Kung Fu", the link or connection to the inimitable incomparable Bruce Lee is immediately made in their minds.
However not only was Bruce Lee the most awesome martial arts master that ever lived (in my mind), he was also a very good cha cha dancer. He danced much better than many Westerners (in my mind).
He danced quite well and that makes me wonder. I've seen many Westerners who practice Kung Fu or other forms martial arts. Now don't take this as a racist statement but the fact of the matter is … no matter how good that Westerner is at martial arts, he or she is never better than the Asians who also practice the same martial arts.
I mean … I've seen Asians who master the Western dance art form and they are excellent! Better than the Westerners! But I've not seen the reverse when it comes to martial arts. Debbie Allen once did a music video and she put a bunch of Asian dancers in her video! She did the choreography but they seriously mastered the moves.
By contrast, I have yet to see a Westerner or rather a non-Asian, who is better at martial arts than an Asian; and more specifically, than a Chinese person who is skilled in martial arts.
Do you think it's in the genes?
My question is for real. I am wondering if there a scientific explanation or is this all in my mind? Anybody got any thoughts?

I think that's either due to diffferences in build or non Asian mens fear of appearing less masculine. Non Asians males are always judging each other or being judged on how manly they are so they'll try to avoid anything that might be percieved as feminine such as making elegant movements

@LadyDuck - Well do you not count Japanese Sumo wrestlers? Those guys scare me.

@cupkitties This is true and this is why a non Asian will never be as good as an Asian in performing some kinds of Martial Arts. As a comparison of what is different, I do not see an Asian wrestling.

LOL. Nobody will ever dishonor Honorable Chuck Norris. Even the late Bruce Lee said he was worthy of honor.

That is very true. There is a difference, in attitude, behavior, beliefs, ways of eating and drinking, etc. In fact, I read a report that said China started experiencing more of certain health problems when the diet of food served in American fast food restaurants were introduced to their culture.

Well there are some popular white Martial artists. There is nothing wrong about that... What is wrong is when Hollywood hire white people for Asian character roles. When it comes to martial arts though all ethnicities can do well with it.
Manny Pacquiao is Asian and he is doing Boxing, an ancient greek martial arts.
Ronda Rousey is White and she did well in Judo a Japanese Martial arts.

That was Bruce Lee's philosophy. He believed anybody could be taught Kung Fu and martial arts.

Well if you take Chuck Norris seriously he combines Martial Arts with the spirit of the Native Indians of America. He is an awesome martial artist, as good as Bruce Lee, I think. But that's only my opinion and I am not an expert.

The Chinese early on, as young as 2 or 3 years old when they start their school hours, they would be doing Martial Arts which is very helpful to the brain as well as the body.
Westerners like Steven Seagal or Wesley Snipes are really good Martial artists and I respect them for that. Liam Neeson is a new breed of the Westerners who is also really very good in Martial Arts.
Uma Thurman ! This is the reason why my all time favorite is Kill Bill.
Let's not forget, Jason Statham ! I am so impressed with him. At his age, he is so fit, and my good guess is because of good eating habits and the discipline in Martial Arts that these Westerners have.
As for your question... do you think it's in the genes?
I would say yes specially for the Chinese but the the Westerners who are really good at Martial Arts, practice, diligence and consistency has been a very big part of what they are right now.

Good points. But I'll bet all the skilled Westerners will admit that they learned at the feet of a Chinese master.

Jackie Chan! Love him. I think its all in how one is raised, if we began to teach this art to the babies, they will be good, but that goes with anything.

We might have to go mano-y-mano on this one. My preference is for Jet li. Jackie Chan comes after him on my list.
