Today I read that the great director, Bernardo Bertolucci, had died at 77 years of age. He directed "The last tango in Paris" and "The last Emperor" among other films. With "The last Emperor" he won an Oscar in 1987. The article said that he was the last of the great directors of that time. Many died at a younger age. Films are different now than those that became classics decades ago. Movies come and go and nobody remembers them again.

The same thing happens with classic movies and the actors that starred there. Do you have a favorite film, director or actor from old times?

I have never been a great fan of Bertolucci, I totally disliked "Last Tango in Paris", after all a modern movie. A rude man almost raping a young woman, disgusting.

77 wasn't very old. And you're right. Many of the old favourites aren't remembered now.

The older I get, the younger I feel that some people are dying. Today I called one of my closest friends. It was her birthday. 74. I never forget to call her to laugh at her for being so old. She is 6 months older than me
