Pub Sign Study The Derby Brewery Arms Cheetham Hill Manchester

One of the few pubs still trading in the Cheetham Hill district than runs between the city centre of Manchester and Prestwich. Once there were many.
The remaining one is very important though as it is the flagship (brewery tap) inn for the Joseph Holt’s brewery that is situated right next door. Brewery visitors often get taken to the pub to sample the fine ales (among the cheapest on ale in the North West of England.
The sign is divided into three distinct scenes, the brewer at work, an external view of the brewery itself and the foaming pint of ale produced at the brewery. It is unusual for a pub sign to be presented with three separate related images in this way but it makes a great story and reminder of the processes and workers behind the pints offered within.

The Brewmaster checking out the hops is a nice touch.
