It's (finally) beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Last night we had the Hanging of the Greens at church where we had soup and sandwiches, then decorated the church for Christmas.
My husband had brought the tree out earlier and put up the spotlight out front, then we all decorated the Sanctuary, fellowship hall, and a few things on the outside.
The soup was warm and comforting (beef veggie), along with sandwiches of ham, chicken salad, and PBJ. I made brownies for dessert.
Today I've been doing more baking for the holidays. I made Snow Balls (pecan cookies) and peanut butter fudge. One day this week I made sugared peanuts and chocolate mint squares (a type of brownie).
Of course I have my play list of Christmas music playing on Spotify.
I love making things ahead of time that can be frozen. I hope to make at least one more batch of chocolate mint squares and fudge, then probably some fried pecans.
Are you baking this season? What's your 'go to' goody for Christmas, whether home made or your favorite brand from somewhere else?

I use to bake like crazy, around the Christmas holiday. When I married Jay, he was always watching his weight and I ended up with diabetes. So now, I don't bake very often.

Lovely photo... happy the decorating went well and the baking sounds great. I'm going to attempt snowballs, but I always like making a shortbread this time of year too

The ornament is one that our son got from relatives in Illinois when he was a baby many years ago. Shortbread sounds yummy. Love to your mom.

I always bake something..but usually only one or two batches of cookies. There is a chocolate cookie I like that uses Andes mints..I will make those for sure. Not sure what else.

@1creekgirl They sound good..the Andes Mint thing couldn't be easier. You make a chocolate cake mix in cookie form..and add an Andes mint to the top when they come out of the oven..They are super good, and seem like you have slaved for hours making them.

That sounds kind of like my chocolate mint squares. They're a very rich, moist brownie with a layer of vanilla cream frosting and then a bitter sweet chocolate mint glaze.

I bake ahead of the holidays also.
Then I freeze it.
There are usually some things that don't go into the freezer, as they don't thaw well, but a lot of what I do does.
Its always so nice to have a good arrangement on a dessert tray that you put out.

I wouldn't bake half the things I do if I couldn't freeze them.

I am cleaning the room where I want to place the tree, not far from the fireplace, where we will have our Christmas Eve dinner. It's too early to bake for Christmas.
