That was our first foreign holiday. It was in the month of December. - December 1-10 to be precise.
After spending a few days in Bangkok we left for Singapore. Singapore is a clean country and it was decked for Christmas. What a vision that was. Every single Mall had Christmas decorations - baskets hanging. Carols singers roaming, Santas giving away gifts.Streets all decked up specially the Orchard Road - a place for Malls. It was too much for me.
Never seen something like this.

Our big main street has big Chrismas trees and one place a Mickey Santa Claus and soon all the malls will be decorated too. But the Mickey is cute.

That is the experience I had - my first foreign trip. Probably you and the US could perhaps match too.

@allknowing The cities have elaborate displays but I doubt they'd top Singapore.

In fact, Singapore is always celebrating, they queue up one after the other!
The Deepavali celebrations are now followed up with the Christmas and the New Year.
Then, we also have the Hari Raya marking the end of the Islamic Holy Month of Ramadan.
Not to forget the Chinese New Year celebrations - siva

Not just kids. You should have seen my reaction. It was a first time for me (lol) I still remember those baskets hanging down both the sides of every stairs from top to toe so to say with beautiful red roses with a mix of silver tinsel.

@allknowing ha ha that is true it would be so exciting for me to see as well. I would have to run up the stairs to see the view from there and I assume Santa sits in the gazebo looking part. I love Hello Kitty this is just so cute!
