A very inexpensive way to get the high protein your body needs is to eat plenty of beans and they can be made in various delicious ways. You can use beans in stews, soups, with rice and even pasta. The quickest way to get the great taste of beans is by purchasing canned beans. However, to make it less expensive you can also buy bags of dried beans and cook them yourself. If you prefer to save some time you can freeze cooked beans to use at any time and they will store for up to three months in freezer bags. Just add 1 ½ cups of beans to each bag. You can cook beans in a variety of ways if you are using them in the dried form such as stove top simmer, slow cooker, pressure cooker and you can even bake beans.
I love beans and I use them in many different ways. One of the most creative which I have tried and it works quite well is bean pancakes. I make up a pancake batter with flour, water, eggs, and spices. To this, I take cooked or canned beans and add them to the batter. This works well for thicker and smaller pancakes. Make sure that the pan has hot oil and then pour on a ladle full of batter. Once the top side is dry turn it over and fry the other side. Stack the pancakes as they are ready. You can enjoy your bean pancakes as they are adding on salsa or other condiments if you like. You can make gravy to pour over them or even a ground beef sauce. Sort of like having bean pancakes smothered in chili. Any way you look at it these are delicious.
I just could not resist talking about beans after my Santa post yesterday.
How many of you love to eat beans? From the humorous side How many of you are full of beans?

There is a saying we used to recite as kids. "Beans, beans, good for the heart.
The more you eat, the more you F*rt.
The more you f*rt the better you feel
So eat beans for every meal.

So we can store the cooked beans for long time in freezer?Neither I heard nor tried too. I always use the dried beans, keeping the same in water overnight for soaking then cook the same in pressure cooker. I never tried pan cakes, recently I learnt how to make pancakes but yet to try. So making pancakes with cooked beans will be an innovative idea for me.
