I have seen the latest news about the Tsunami that hit Pandeglang, Serang and South Lampung in Indonesia. I am so heartbroken to see the videos and all the news on Twitter and social media. All my sincere thoughts and prayers to those who have been affected by this natural and devastating disaster. The worst thing of all is that there was no warning and it was all unforeseen, how can this happen in the current world? Not a great post to share, but we all have to be thankful for being safe in our own countries and places. I encourage you all to pray for all these people who are suffering now. I hope all the missing people show up alive.

@jvicentevalera It really shows how life is unpredictable and uncertain and our faith and hope in God is all we have to keep us going in this world.

@1hopefulman Wise words Hopeman, I totally agree with you. Events like the one that's going on in Indonesia open up our minds and show us that the most important things in life aren't expensive stuffs and fancy lifesyle but well-being, good health and being safe.

Agreed. Once I saw the video of the Seventeen band that was on stage performing and then being sweeped off the stage and all the people too broke my heart man. I just think of what If one of us were there with our loved ones, how would we feel? I just don't get it. In the meantime we just have to pray so the missing people show up alive and safe. :(

@porwest Absolutely Jim you could've not said it best. We have to learn from events like this that the moment is now to say I love you to your loved ones, cause who knows tomorrow if you'll be able to. Nice words my friend.

This breaks my heart and make me reflect on how lucky we are. I hope that for those who were left alive after the catastrophe still find a strength to move on with their life. I know it is difficult. I am praying that may God heal their wounds.

You are so right. In my opinion the hardest thing is to move on from such a disturbing event and knowing you lost a loved one due to it. Let's keep them in our prayers.

@jvicentevalera Yes, that was how we took it from the information that we saw and read on the news. Prayers and thoughts......that is what we can do for them, and that can be very powerful.

You are right when you say the state of affairs, because one of the things that got my attention is that they were not able to foresee this tsunami, first of all because it is common to happen after an earthquake and second of all cause they have low quality equiptment to track down events like this. I agree with you, all we have to do is keep them in our prayers.

Me too Dianne, I was having breakfast while checking Twitter and saw Indonesia hashtag, to my surprise I started watching all the footage, and I was shocked. Almost cried, but contained my emotion and posted out in here so all the people from Indonesia know that all myLotters community like you and me care about this. :( Let's keep them in our prayers.

@jvicentevalera I think there is some system that helps to forecast tsunamis but it still needs improvement.

It was heartbreaking!
It seems that earthquakes and tsunamis cannot be foreseen.

Totally. Officers say that the tsunami was caused by a Vulcano called Anak Krakatau. According to sources the tsunami was set off by an eruption from that vulcano. The athorities said that due to low quality equiptment this tsunami wasn't tracked, besides they point out that they were not aware of this cause it is common for tsunamis to show up after an earthquake, but in this case there was no quake.

@jvicentevalera The quake was after the tsunami from what I just read.

@marguicha According to FoxNews.com earlier they said that it was caused due to an eruption from a volcano nearby the area. It erupted about 24 minutes before the tsunami, said the article. So let's see if they keep updating the news in the days to come.

Me too Marlina. I just think of how many children lost their lives due to this tsunami. What surprises me the most is that at least this is the second tsunami that slamms Indonesia in this year. I don't know how these people deal with such hard times. I will pray tonight for them it's the least I can do.

That's so right James. I was shocked cause in my country a tsunami has never happened. So just to think all the sorrow and devastation that an event like this can bring, breaks my heart so much. I will pray for them so from the distance I am helping through my thoughts and prayers, that's the least I can do.

I saw it on Youtube too. It came without warning amidst the merrymaking. Not even an earthquake to precede the tsunami. They say the tsunami could have been caused by an underwater volcano erupting.

I saw it on Twittter and the footage was disturbing. Let's hope Indonesian authorities can get sophisticated equiptment that might help to foresee something like this and take action quickly.

I think the same way, If ony they could've noticed it 10 minutes before, I think the story would be different as we speak, however there was no possibility to see this coming. I hope they find new technological ways to foresee this events so there are no more deaths from something like this.

I am so sorry about what's going on there. All my prayers and thoughts go to you. I hope that my country helps yours economically. You are good people and do not deserve to be going through such a disturbing situation. I hope you and your family are safe, I don't know if those islands are nearby you, however stay with your family and safe. :(

@jvicentevalera You are a soft-hearted person, you are very far away from the location of the sunami victims, but you take the time to say the words of great sorrow, I am touched when I hear sympathy from you, it will make the sunami victims become enthusiastic strong to undergo the test they received
