Anthony Mancinelli of New York is the oldest working barber in the world. No doubt about that. In fact, he may be the oldest working man in the world.
He started cutting hairs when he was 11 years old to help out his family. At age 107 he still works 40 hours and 5 days a week. His son, bob, is 85 years old; he retired when he was 81. And according to Bob his dad is in a better shape than him.
What is his advice for all us this Holiday Season? "KEEP WORKING, KEEP BUSY! Some people retire to soon and get old fast!", he said.
Well, "Keep working, keep busy" may not give long life to everyone in this planet. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

@Icydoll Me.too! I am 62 years old . . still working at a large Canadian superstore. And I exercise a lot . . my favorite form of exercise is 100 push ups every morning (no weights on my back) ,. . and with 25-lb weight on my back, I do 50! I build lots of muscles. Of course, I don't smoke and drink. I am 95 percent vegetarian as I still devour fish, crustaceans, and chicken

It is true that having active lifestyle will allow older citizen to be healthy and live longer.
This can allow them to use their brain while they are doing their daily activities. So reduce the rate of having Alzheimer and Parkinson as well as Osteoporosis.

@Acefun I will not retire at age 65. I will keep working as long as I am mentally and physically able.

Getting work is to maintain a steady stream of income.
Even you plan to retire, you still can work part time as a volunteer in non-profit organisation to help out the poor people. Alternatively, you can learn some skills that you plan to when you are young.
It is just my suggestion.

i like to keep working, but only if i have a healthy heart.

.
And for his "keep working" advice, it depends of the work. An old French song says "The work is health, doing nothing keeps people healthy."
