This is my second day on myLot and, as I have already been active I'd better introduce myself. I am a Scotsman currently living in Scotland's capital city of Edinburgh. The image you see here is Edinburgh Castle. Perched high up on Castle Rock it has an excellent view of the city and is a major tourist attraction. There has been a royal castle here since the 12th century but nowadays it is used as an army garrison.
I retired from full-time employment three months ago and now look forward to visiting as much of my homeland as my wife and I can manage in our dotage! I look forward to meeting as many of you as I can.

@ThreeTeddies As both my husband and I lived in Milan, we often came to Switzerland, it's only one hour driving from Milan. We both liked here and we decided to retire here.

Welcome to myLot! I'm a full-time Sassenach with absolutely no Celtic ancestry (that I can discover, to my regret). I find, to my horror, that I have been retired now for just about 12 years and have been addicted to myLot for just a little longer than that.

Welcome here in Mylot! Looking at your photo is like reading a fairy tale story. I have seen some movies with somewhat similar to the photo you posted. I dream that someday I can visit that castle.

Welcome Teddy! I have been to Edinburgh once, and I remember visiting the Edinburgh Castle. I have been to Scotland twice (many years ago), both times to visit the small town of Maffat (my namesake). The first time I flew in to Glasgow and took the A74(M) down to Moffat, and the second time I was in London and flew up to Edinburgh and then drove backroads down to Moffat. Such a beautiful area you live in!

Welcome to myLot. myLot is Your Lot. I have ancestry from Scotland along with 8 other nationalities, including Ireland and England to name a few. I bet you will really enjoy your travels now that you are into your first taste of freedom from the treadmill.

@ThreeTeddies , I started off thinking I was no longer a value to society. Yea. That is wrong. Duh. I now know that I can continue to give back to the world in my good deeds and my prayers and for that matter, I am more busy as a retired person than I was as a working stiff. :)
