A Libya situation is building on the French coast. In the last two months there has been a big rise in boats of all shapes and sizes full of migrants crossing The Channel to get to England and claim asylum. As with Libya the traffickers know if they get people into British waters we have to pick them up, which we have now been doing, which encourages more to come.
In November we had 90 make the trip and in December we are onto 122, and this is winter through the worlds busiest shipping lane. 50 tried on Christmas Day alone. The tactic of having small kids on board is being used to make sue they are not turned back and the flimsy vessel thing also in play. The question is just how many boats will come in the warmer spring? We could see 1000 people a month come over and looking like Dunkirk ou there from The White Cliffs!.
The reason there has been this upsurge from mostly Middle Eastern Muslim countries is unclear but today it was declared as a Code One security issue by the government. Some say Brexit is driving it as the migrants fear they will get tougher border patrols when the British leave the EU where as others say the French are helping to push the boats out to get rid of the migrant problem. We certainly toughened up the security at the ports and Eurotunnel.
What we do know is that the Turks were paid three billion euros to stop the route to Greece from Syria and Libya and that basically involved the Turkish Navy rifle butting the people in the boats in the water and the EU closing its borders. To stop this serge on The Channel the Brit's will also have to get tough or people will die out there. Its not easy to fix. What we do know is those flotilla of boats are going to influence a second Brexit vote,if there is one. I can only see it winning Leave votes, perhaps one or two Remainers showing heir true colors now...

I can't side with any one in this situation. It's just a horrible thing to happen.
