How do you welcome the New Year?
Since I was married, I always do a general clean up of my home to welcome the New Year. Even when I was working in Metro Manila and we were renting a room, I always made sure it is cleaned all throughout.
Now that we are in our own home; I tried to clean portion by portion, until all the parts of the house were cleaned; dusted, mopped, all the books, drawers, etc. were cleared. I throw away the things I no longer need, putting it in a nice plastic or paper bag so the garbage collector can still use or sell it.
This way, I can eliminate some clutter and make the home look spacey and clean.
What are your "rituals" for the new year?

Our family do not have such practice as we do not celebrate New Year.
We will do cleaning in the house just few days before Chinese New Year. This is because we cannot clean especially sweep floor during the first two days of the celebration. This is typical a Chinese family will practice.
We just entered a new world of 2019, wish you happy new year.

It means a lot for us; so we prepare a lot in welcoming it.

I have no rituals. It is just a changing of the calendar.

We have so many practices/activities to welcome the New Year; and it is one of the practices that I always do to clean our home.

It is also one of the reasons I always make the home clean, not only for the New Year.
