Something for the Grandkids. Can you tell what they are?

OK, it's not my Grandkids, as I don't have any, but they're for my music buddy Michael's Grandkids, who already know me pretty well.
Michael, Mark and I are heading down to LA for the Rose Bowl, and we'll be staying at Michael's daughter's house. Her husband shares my human name (not Horse) and their three kids are all getting "presents."
These little swimming pool rafts are cool for playing with in the pool or bathtub, putting in "water tables" (at a preschool) or just...making.
Don't tell the little ones that they're learning about concepts like density, center of gravity, mass, and art when they're playing with them.
Heh, I love being a sneaky bast*rd. Could you tell what they were when you looked at the picture?

I knew right away. I think the rafts are a great idea. I used to build cabins from them. A bit crooked and so but as best as a child could do. I am sure they will love them and have a great time. Happy New Year!

They are cool to teach them all the concept of Physics even without realizing that they are learning. You are quite creative. Cool rafts made of ice cream sticks and wood corks...I think I am right.

No...I could not.
There was a toy I had as a kid, which fascinated me very much. It was an ordinary boat shaped thing. At one end (not center) there would be a tube like opening, on which we were supposed to put the blown balloon. The balloon size and the air it could hold was of course specific. As long as the balloon had air, this boat like toy moved forward in water. Quite fast. LOL.
I wonder if you could make a longer rectangular raft and repeat that toy experiment on it.

Ah, back in the old days, when we were kids, that's what popsicles came on: raft building materials!!

Yes, I made a correct guess!
The only thing that came to mind from the picture was a raft. Sometimes a limited imagination can come in handy

My grandchildren also have similar things and they have no end of fun with them using glue, paint, glitter, etc. Drives their mum nuts!
