So it's 4am, and I haven't slept much. I'm outside smoking a cigarette listening to a couple of the guys here talk about a new water park or something that is being built. I say something, and one of the guys snaps "hey can I talk?" This guy is always crabbing in the morning that I'm too energetic (I am high strung, and bipolar and tend to be a bit intense before my first cup of coffee. Coffee calms me down); I've been very sincere in my efforts to tone it down around him and yet still he barks at me. Being here in a shelter isn't my dream future either, but I make the best of it, and it's better than being on the street. And as much as I want to say something, or turn up my dial today, I think today will be a silent one. As the new year rolls in, I will look forward and up, not around me. For I am meant for better things. Happy New Year to you all, 2019 is going to be my rise to the top.
