Do you play board games?

If you play board games what is your favorite or what was your favorite as a kid? I played Chutes and Ladders with my grandkids the other day. It was a lot of fun. I use to love playing Pictionary. Use to be good for a lot of laughs. I know lots of people play Monopoly but it wasn't a game I really got into. As a kid we use to play Don't Break The Ice, Trouble, Scrabble and Sorry just to name a few. I know both of kids have game night's with their children and the kids always look forward to it. It a good way to spend some quality family time together.

All of us neighborhood kids would get together on long, hot summer days and play board games. Popular ones were Trouble, Aggravation, and Sorry. At home, we would have incredible marathon family Monopoly games on Friday nights, sometimes lasting for hours on end. As an adult, some of my favorite include Trivial Pursuit and Pictionary. Always fun times when the board games come out.

@Happy2BeMe I either loved or hated the length of the Monopoly game, depending on if I was winning or losing! haha

Yes for sure..makes for good times. I guess that is why I never really got into Monopoly because it would last for hours on end. My son and his wife play it quite often.

I love all the ones you mentioned (not so much a monopoly fan either) but my favorite has to be Scattegories. =)

@Happy2BeMe Oh it's so much fun! You have to come up with things in a category only using a certain letter. For example, things at the beach and you roll the letter "C". You are also timed so it's tricky but fun!

Board games really seem to be coming back into popularity. Some newer ones I like are Ticket To Ride, Forbidden Island and Qwirkle. I never enjoyed Monopoly either.

I never heard of those ones. I know board games were very popular this Christmas. They shelves were always empty. I bought a few with my children for their family game nights.

We played alot of games when i was growing up. Chutes and ladders, monopoly, scrabble, Parcheesi, candylane, operation, yahtzee, uno, etc. My favorite though was probably candyland. I love game nights, which is why mom and i still have them while listening to music. Though we even play games while watching our shows. We also made sure all the kids always played games when theyd sleep over, as their parents dpnt play with them.

As a kid, I had a bunch, some of them are actually hard to even recollect the names for some reason. Trouble, Operation, Monopoly, Game of Life, those are just some examples. Oh, when I was a bit of an older child, I know Risk was one, but I probably only played it a few times, but it was quite fun, I do remember. Anyways, these days, it is always about Scrabble, that is the absolute favourite, and I usually play it with my parents every now and then, sometimes my brother as well. Maybe once or twice a year, I would also play it with my grandma. Another favourite is Trivial Pursuit!

@Happy2BeMe Most definitely! Yeah, I am/was pretty big in to Trivial Pursuit (but it's) not for everyone, I know some people got sick of playing it with me because I had a good memory for remembering some of the answers on a certain version of it that is neat you are a fan of it too, though

@mawdest Use to play it a lot but haven't played it in awhile. It pays to have a good memory at a game like that.
