What is the problem with second-hand things anyway?

Do you use second-hand products? Earlier today, while I was waiting for my parents to pick me up, I would hear a group of people complaining about not buying used things. Basically, the complaint wasn't because the products were bad (which is usually the complaint of the vast majority of people in this case), but because they weren't the first people to use/wear them. Oh, my... What kind of nonsense thinking! P.S.: Excluding personal stuffs.

It depends on what the product is. I wouldn't have any objection to clothes or furniture, but other things (like electronics) I'd be very skeptical about. Hey, I live in a "used" house!

Depends on what item it is. My son would buy seance hand ps4 games. it still works perfectly fine and he has no complaints about it.

@WiseGhots I used to work in a Thrift Shop that received old and new things. I loved that shop and loved to buy things there.

I am fine buying and using pre-loved items. My family members often give me things they thought I can make use off. As long as they are clean and usable, sign me up. What's the deal with them anyway? The very oxygen they inhale was also recycled by nature.

I like the thrill of the hunt. I will look at 25 items or more, but when I find a treasure, it's fun. I never buy things that can't be washed, though. And never "personal" items.

I buy lots of second-hand books! This can be interesting when you find penciled notes in margins, and sometimes strange bookmarks - but I've yet to come across a ten pound note (or even a fiver)!

I dont find second hand things a problem in any way. They also cost less in second hand shops.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that it's "second-hand"? As if, the reason why it's being given away or sold is that the quality has already been reduced. Though a lot of people who sell/give away second-hand items do it mainly because they don't use it anymore (like the clothes I've gotten from my relatives lol). Such a shame for people to see it as a discount instead~ A lot of items that are sold are also in the "rarely used" section too.

Setting up my apartment old furnishings were great. I mean I would purchase used furniture and stuff in stores but here in Daytona Beach people are throwing out perfectly good stuff. I got two bookshelves my friends hauled over for me and they are great already filled with books and an absolutely amazing tall six shelf bookcase which I filled with a lot of my stuff and could never understand why it was placed out on the street but good for me.
