Payday is a Day Early

Today is Wednesday. We are expecting the paycheck to be released tomorrow as our payroll schedule is every 10th and 25th of the month. With the exception if the 10th or 25th falls on weekend or holiday will be released early. But today is not holiday. I think the company knows that we don't have budget because the last pay was released on December 21st.

Normally people are paid in a different way at some times of the year. In my country everyone is paid early on December.

As a teacher, I was paid every other week, and received two lump sums for the summer which we had off.

People are paid once a month in our country, usually the last day of the month, a day (or 2) earlier if it is on weekend.

That is a new knowledge for me. I am not sure if some companies are following that payroll scheme. Most common are every other Friday, 2x a month.

@LadyDuck i think we can't have this rule as most people only depend on the salary. And no other source of income.

@jobelbojel This is the rule in most European countries. People are paid every month the last day of the month.

I used to get paid every other week. I loved holidays because you get time and a half.

I like holidays too. Here we get 100% additional on top of the 100% regular pay if the holiday is Regular Holiday. If it is Special holiday, we get additional 30%.

Good for you. I think the company knows that on January the people usually have low budgets because of the holidays.
