Whole Foods gave me a wedge of cheese for free twice

I went to Whole Foods yesterday and one of the things I got there was some cheese. I got two different ones. One wedge scanned fine. The other one wouldn't scan because there was an issue with the printed bar code. Instead of asking me to get another wedge of the same cheese the girl just gave it to me for free. I ended up saving somewhere between $5 and $6. On my Whole Foods shopping trip prior to this one I had the same issue with the bar code and got the cheese for free as well. I doubt that the Whole Foods policy says if you can't scan a product give it to the customer for free. I think the cashiers just didn't want to deal with the bar code issue and chose to give me the cheese for free. I am not going to say no to free cheese. I wonder if this will happen again...

Free cheese? You would be a fool saying "no".

@WiseGhots Yeah. I gotta have my cheese! And the stinkier and more pungent the better.

Especially cheese. Some cheese is very expensive. Ever pay $20 or more per pound for cheese?

@JohnRoberts I did but that's rare. I've seen some cheese that's like close to $40 a pound. Now that's way too much!

I don't know, they may have that in their training. It certainly makes for a more loyal customer.

If I keep getting free cheese I better continue shopping at that specific location. I've never gotten free cheese at any other locations. Perhaps those other locations didn't have scanning bar code issues.

If I stole some cheese, that would be wrong. But, when a checker chooses to give you the cheese for 'free', that's a wonderful surprise! All the money we have to spend on food? Customers deserve a big discount, at the check-out line! Enjoy your cheese

Thanks! I am looking forward to it. I would never steal cheese from a store. But from a person's plate... maybe.

@kobesbuddy If they have stations where they give cheese to try I take it lol. And sometimes more than one piece.

@lovebuglena There's never a sign that says, 'Please, just take one piece of cheese!' We try all the varieties of cheese:)

That sounds very good, and I would not refuse the free cheese.
