Having Medical Issues Can Be Challenging

Not sure if many others have noticed or are experiencing this, but it is something I have been seeing a lot lately, and is actually quite frustrating, and makes me wonder how Health Care can be going backwards so bad. Many of you remember the issues I have had over time with my Chronic wound on my right leg and how it has really been a pain to try and get healed over time. For some yrs it was at a standstill to where I was not having issues with it, even though it has never healed completely. Then a few months ago it started acting up from time to time and I was put on an Antibiotic and everything seemed to be OK. Then it seemed like nothing was working for me anymore so I had my Doctor refer me to the local wound clinic here in our area thinking this would be a help. WRONG!! They refused to do a Culture on the wound to make sure it was not infected, and then only wanted to do things that will not work for me, and when I tried to tell them that they just said they could not help me and I was on my own. Why has Health Care gotten to the point Drs and Nurses refuse to believe a patient. Even want to consider trying Antibiotics, etc that are know Allergies for the patient. I guess if I had Medicare, or Medicaid than I would maybe understand more about not wanting to help, but I am on my husbands insurance which last I knew will help with almost anything out there medically needing help. So now I am back to using anything natural I can find that might actually help and trying something that came recommended for wounds. Am I the only one lately feeling this Medical frustration? ~~TINA~~

My insurance is supposed to be pretty good. It's the Doctors around here that are not. Why have a PA who can hardly do anything act like they are in control even when you feel what they are wanting to do is not in the Best interest, and even contrary to what the Nurse thought they should have done?

No, you're not the only one. I'm on Medicare and was on Medicaid and the help they gave me was limited by what the government allowed.

But I have Medical thru my husbands insurance, and they are the ones who are approving Health care by the places I choose to go. Not sure why the people refuse to want to listen and help, unless it is because they are PA's and not real doctors so they can only do so much?

@KrauseHome The doctors follow the guidelines given them by Medicaid or Medicare. They don't go beyond that. I'm glad you have insurance through your husband. I'm sure it makes a huge difference.

Yep and the worse part you should see what they charged my insurance for being so Lousy. It is disheartening. Such a waste. Wondering if it is because they are PA's that they seem so unhelpful?

Yes it is very disheartening and makes me wonder how Health Care could get to this Low of point to where someone cannot listen to their patient, unless it was because they are PA's and have no real help knowledge of listening and wanting to consider trying a different approach?

It's all about money, isn't it? I remember when my aunt was here and consulted with our local doctor here. Turns out she's been taking a medication for six months that has side effects on her. Our local doctor advise her to lower dosage and then stop. We thought and had impression that Doctors in the states were the best in medicine, I guess times has changed now.

They used to be pretty good and quite helpful when it comes to Healthcare. Now I think many of them just do not take the time to want to know, or help. Many of them seem confused when I try to ask questions, or tell them of other issues I deal with as well.

I have read from other US members that they are having problems with their doctors, nurses and even healthcare insurance. I am really sorry, this is extremely frustrating.

Yes it is. Part of my issue could be that they may think since I am on Disability and have Medicare part A for Hospital coverage that that is my insurance without listening to me, or wanting to see what my insurance coverage really is, and then make a Game plan with listening to me with what works instead of acting like I refuse to listen to what they demand doing and if that is not going to work then I need to go somewhere else.

@KrauseHome The European healthcare system is different, we have a better support here if we need to see a doctor or to go to hospital. I hope you can find a good doctor who takes the time to listen.

It is frustrating it has come to this. Going to check out another route, going to try something natural and also make an apt with my Primary Care doctor to figure out what I should consider doing next from here

I have read of others on here who have been unable to find a doctor to help them. It is a very bad situation.

It is Sad, and stems mostly from back when Obama was president and how it ended up making Health Care so much worse and to where the PA's feel they are Gods and not have to listen to their patients

Diabetes many times I feel is the worst treated issue out there sometimes. Too many Doctors never want to treat someone until they are super high and then others want to Blame the Diabetic or treat them like they did in the 70s and 80s never understanding not everything out there works the same for everyone.
