I heard someone said this statement.
"There is no strength in the absence of fear. People who dont value their lives have no right to protect others."
For me, I agree. its like saying Learn to love yourself first before learning to love others.

but the thing is they value their lives first thats why they were able to overcome fear in order to protect their lands and families.?

The second part makes perfect sense but not sure what the absence of fear means. Do you?
