I just joined a site called FutureLearn. It has all sorts of free courses for just about anything that interests you. The courses are free and most are short term for a couple of weeks.
I am excited to start an archeology course. I have always been interested in the subject. There are different activities, comments, and quizzes.
I don't get anything for mentioning it, just want to make people aware that it is there. A lot of people might like the genealogy course. Try exploring and see if something catches your interest.

I have seen the site, but I didn't take any of the courses. There seem to a be a lot of different subjects, and I am pretty sure that I would be able to find something that I am interested in. I will return to the site when I have more free time. It sounds like a good way to learn new things.

@akalinus Yes, I saw that it was possible to upgrade and get a certificate. I don't need a certificate. I will just stick to the free part of the site.

@Porcospino That's what I am doing for now. It is easier to get writing jobs if you are an expert in something so I might think about the certificate but for now, the free stuff.

I have heard of the site before. I see things on sites like that and they seem cool but not anything I'd be too terribly interested in. I did follow one course about celtic legends but it wasn't as interesting as it seemed. Which was probably more the course layout than the subject itself.

@akalinus I'm glad you still find it exciting. I guess it just depends on the subject and the learner.

@ScribbledAdNauseum You need to pick something you care about enough to take a course.

I'm heading to the site to check it out. I guess it's open to other countries. Isn't the internet incredibly marvellous in some ways?
