I just saw a news report the the Valentine conversational Hearts that were made by Necco may not be on many shelves this year as the company closed in July and sold all of their brands of candy to other companies.
Since it took Necco eleven months to make enough there wasn't enough time to make them for this year, but Sprangler promised that they will be back next year.
In the meantime you may find some on the shelves that are coming from sitting in warehouses, so it would be good idea to check the expiration date before buying.which I will do when I go to where I saw some. (Or look to see if Brach has thiers out which you mainly see at Easter)

I saw that on the news and while I don't eat them, they are very much a Valentine tradition.

I didn't realize Necco made those. But I did know about the company closing. The school had Necco wafers on the gingerbread house list back in December . . . I couldn't find them . . . and then I learned online that the company close - no wonder. I have seen similar heart candies on the shelves already . . . I just haven't paid attention to the brand!
