Was it the pharmacy attendant or my Fault?

I ordered Amlodipine 5mg to the pharmacy attendant and just received my purchase without reviewing. I should have taken it earlier that night but I forgot to take it. It was midnight when I suspected that my blood pressure was up so I grab the Sphygmo and have my BP checked. It reads 140/90 and it’s already higher than the normal. I need to take my medicine but when I get one pill, it’s bigger than the usual med that I regularly take. I look for the mg but I can’t read it because it’s very tiny. It was known later that it’s 10 mg when I let my niece to read it. Whose fault it was? I think I should have reviewed it right away so that I can ask the replacement but the attendant must also aware that I ordered the 5 mg and not the 10. I’m just glad that I noticed its size and not just take it immediately. I might be taking the higher dosage than the usual need. Photo Credit: pixabay.com

May you cut them in half and take only half pill? People are no more careful while processing customers orders.

@ZedSmart You were right to split the pill in two, a too high dose could even be dangerous.

Yes, that's what I did Ms. Anna. Had I more careless and took it whole, then I don't know what's the effect. Perhaps those higher dose pills were accidentally put in the 5mg box.

So true because if we are not careful, we will end up to taking the wrong dosage or medicine.

@ZedSmart yes in some case it proved to be dangerous, if not counter immediately

Well I guess its the attendant's fault to give you the wrong dosage of the medicine. We the customers would always assume that the item given to us is the right item when given by the salesperson. In your case, you have gained from it because you got the higher dosage which means that is costlier. Maybe you can jut cut the tablet half so that you can still drink 5mg.

You have a point because in the first place, my order is right. You are right, I just cut it half to get the right dosage.

You must see the dosage before leave, I also bought a dose of 10 mg but instead was given a 5mg by pharmacy to my parents.

It must be. There are just times that we don't care only to find out later we have the wrong item with us.

The pharmacy attendant's fault. I believe it is on prescription. Careless to her customers.

I don't know how it happens but I doubt it's accidentally put in the 5 mg tablet and the attendant may not notice it. Good thing is I was able to differentiate thru its size.
