My wife is quite a good cook and some of the food she cooks is based on family recipes from way back. Her mother and her grandmother were both good cooks and they have left my wife with a valuable legacy of home-cooked family recipes - all of which are delicious. There is one in particular - 'mince and tatties' - a good, old-fashioned Scottish favourite which she cooks regularly and I can honestly say it's the best mince and tatties I've ever tasted - and that includes the version my own mother used to make! I can't tell you our special family recipe but I can point you in the direction of a recipe for mince and tatties which is both easy to cook and quite delicious!

Never heard of this, of course living in the US. I looked at the link and it sounds delicious. I have a drawer full of family cookbooks from my Mom and Grandmother, they are priceless.

@CarolDM Mince and tatties (minced beef and potatoes) is a well-loved Scottish staple. Every Scottish housewife has her own variant of the recipe

I love all kinds of Irish food. I even love haggis! I will look at this recipe and do my own thing to it.

I love anything made with mince. Some of the old recipes are still the best aren't they?
