What will you do if you got stuck inside an elevator?

As someone who regularly uses an elevator, This story creeped me to the highest level. It is like the ultimate nightmare for claustrophobics. So this woman used an elevator of an apartment of Manhattan and it got stucked.
No one is able to help her because they can't hear her screams and no one seemed to use that elevator as the building have other elevators. She got stuck there for three days. Just imagine the hunger, suffocation and toilet issues she have to deal with. She was rushed on a hospital but she is in a good condition now.
Can you imagine if this happened to you? The woman doesn't own a cellphone.

I wonder if it is a fabricated story. There are alarms in every elevator. I have been stuck several times, you press the button and you get assistance in a very short time. Well, I see it's on YouTube, I do not believe this at all. It is MANDATORY to have the alarm installed on any elevator from at least 60 years.

@CaptAlbertWhisker The cellphone does not work inside an elevator there is a button to press to get assistance, the security button usually calls the firefighter. I only knew someone stuck in a private elevator who stayed there all the day.

@LadyDuck I guess that is not how thing goes in New York where it happened. It is also a residential house of a Billionaire family in a vacation. she is their maid.

I have never been stuck in an elevator, but the thought scares me. I don't avoid elevators completely, but I prefer to use the stairs if it is possible.

@CaptAlbertWhisker Being stuck inside an empty building is the worst situation. I have heard about other people who experienced the same (getting stuck in an empty building), but I don't remember the details about those stories.

Its not a business building, its a mansion of a rich person. She is their maid and the owner of the house are on a vacation

this woman was alone in the building because she is a maid of a Billionaire's house and her bosses are on a vacation.
