On thin ice?

I had just taken a photo of a frozen pond on our daily dog walk when I looked up to see that said dog had decided to explore the pond in more detail! I have no idea how thick the ice was, but it was obvious that the further one went from the edge, the thinner it got! Okami - the border collie - clearly trusted that her weight would not crack the ice, but I wasn't quite so sure! Fortunately she came back to dry land without disaster.

Now that would have been fun! Oddly enough, I didn't have four dog-sized skates on me at the time!

The cat of my neighbor is walking on our frozen pond, I keep an eye on him. He cannot walk properly, but he insists.

Glad the ice held, it wouldn't have been good if she'd gone in and you'd tried to rescue her. That almost always ends badly for the human.

Thank goodness she didn't fall through. You might have had to get your feet wet helping her out.
