I am your washing machine

After reading Fiacre Banks @xFiacre's post about being a carpet, I started thinking about other household items, as M.-L. @MALUSE suggested. I am your washer. I know I was sleek and shiny a few years ago when you bought me. But hard work will wear a woman down. Yes, I'm a female. Don't let anyone tell you that washers are ever male. They would have no clue what all their options and knobs are for. I know my top is scared from the time your husband laid a rusty hammer on me. And my inside doesn't spin with quite the enthusiasm and zest for life I used to have. How do you expect me to always get your laundry sweet smelling when you toss in work clothes and wet towels? And don't even get me started on nasty sneakers. But I'm still here and I'm still working hard! Why do detergents and fabric softeners and those silly add-in plastic puffy do dads get all the credit for your clean clothes? Don't you see they would be totally useless without me???? Well, if I'm really so useless, just go ahead and start washing all your laundry with your own two little hands. Then we'll see how much you appreciate me. I may be "only" a washer, but I am your washer. And by golly, I deserve some respect around here.

Very good one. Poor washer, I will show more respect from now on. Anyway I never threw sneakers inside, we do not wear sneakers, she should be happy of this.

@1creekgirl My washer is lucky, because we are only two, she is a lazy washer.

I really appreciate my washer. In fact, I'll go and give it a little pat on the head now!

Ours has been in a semi retirement home for a year now. I am reluctant to go get a new one when this one is still half alive .

Yes, it's hard to part with a friend who's still half alive.
