I am going to try to describe the plot of the book as well as possible. I know that I can post this on a goodread's group and hopefully find someone else who might know the book. I am going to post it everywhere, I want to find this book. Plot : A young girl is on the road home, or to an ancestral home. She gets into a wreck but is fine. A man comes to help her and he carries her to the home that she was headed towards. He, alongside another, helps heal her. She starts to hear things in the home, piano's playing. All the while, she gets closer and closer to this man who helped her out of the car. He is different. Kind but aloof. She begins to learn of the history of the place, which is her ancestral home. I'm not sure if it belonged to her mother, her grandmother, I don't remember. She continues to hear things and people playing the piano. The man she is beginning to love has to go away, or is already gone.. I don't remember. I am sure I am mixing the plot up with another book, but I'm trying to get the right plot so bare with me... It's based on my memory. The woman is wearing a necklace or a bracelet that the man put onto her when he helped her from the car. It belonged to his mother, or so he tells her. She eventually discovers something in the home, paperwork or family history. She learns that the man she's been talking to is a sort of cousin. I mean, I say sort of because the man died a century ago. She's been talking to a ghost. She confronts him and he doesn't want to talk about it. She keeps prodding him though, and asking him about the noises she hears in the night. It eventually comes out that the necklace he put on her is a sort of talisman. She's actually dead herself. They are living between worlds.. The noises she hears is from the other dead.. Or perhaps from living occupants.. I can't remember which Does this sound familiar at all? I feel like I am getting things mixed up or remembering thigns incorrectly... I vaguely remember that the noises she hears are people and they seem hostile towards her. I know she is dead, or mostly dead... The man she falls in love with would be like her third cousin or something of the sort... Anyone?

It sounds very familiar to me too. Seems like it involves the home being a cottage out in the middle of nowhere and it was the other realm she hears. Gosh, now I'm wanting to know.

I am going to post it on the goodreads group and on two facebook groups I am a member of. I am going to try to find out. When I do, I will let you know. The cottage.. I feel like there was a cottage but the home was actually a manor home. The cottage was on the premises?

It is okay. I wasn't expecting anyone to know, but I wanted to give it a try. One 'lotter says it sounds familiar to her as well. We shall see.

Not to me. I don't think I've encountered this story before. I'm in search of a book too. Never thought of getting help from Goodreads. Thanks.

The beginning sounds like an old classic I read once. Main character is injured. Man finds her and takes her to his place. She of course fall for him, etc.

Yeah, the beginning sounds like a lot of books I've read, it's one of the classic "love at first sight' types.

I do not think I'll ever remember the title of the book. I do remember that I wasn't impressed with the book at first but kept reading it and ended up liking it. I also know it wasn't in a genre I usually read. Hopefully I can find someone who knows what I am going on about.

I read it a few yeas ago, maybe as much as five years ago. I think it was between the Young Adult and Suspense categories. It started out somewhat slowish but got better as it went. I'm sure I"ll find it somewhere.
