How often do you cut your hair?

Going to the hairdresser...
Do you have any set deadline for this? Or just cut your hair when you feel like it... Or maybe, even according to your mood?
I have a deadline to cut mine: every 3 months (basically because I don't like my hair long). It's not a rule, but I try to follow this "deadline".

I don't like my hair long, I much prefer it short. It is getting quite long now but not as long as it used to. I'd get it cut once every two years or something like that. I'd have hairdressers ask me several times if I was sure I wanted as short as I asked or not cut it short enough. I don't think they realised just how much it would grow in two years - I'd even had it shaved and it still grew quite long very quickly. It's about shoulder length now and I haven't had it cut for about 18 months. I was thinking about getting it cut soon but I've decided to grow it a bit longer and then donate it to a charity that makes wigs for children. It will annoy me until then but it will be worth it.

I do not go to a shop I do my own about every 4-6 weeks and cut it with a number two cutter! I have saved hundreds of pounds by doing it myself rather than pay someone else!
