Nourish the Body, Mind and Soul – Everything in Balance

I find peace of mind when I have all the three in my thoughts; the body, the mind, and the soul. For the very few, the soul connects to a higher power and then they are elevated and become out of the ordinary. When the connection becomes a way of life, everything falls in place for a meaningful ride.
We get sidetracked when our leaders are egoist and “promise the moon”. Then we are stuck deeper in the mire of the harsh reality of our making; Mother Nature and time heal us but our own can be unforgiving. There is no magic wand; our thoughts followed by action decide our future. Though we live within a society, we still have individual freedom of thought and action. Even during periods of slavery, we had freedom of the mind although the body was entrapped. In fact, we could still feel the connection to a higher power that our life here is temporary and that we would find release soon.
“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.” said the French philosopher, Pierre Teilhard de Chardin. That approach ensures a higher purpose than the mundane we get accustomed to when we are more led by our senses.
We need to call into play a philosophical take without getting bound to straitjacket, one track minded journey that leads to a void, emptiness, and an opportunity lost.
These are my thoughts and I agree there are wiser takes on life that serve others well. Maybe, you can share your thoughts to enrich this post.

Can you explain how we are "spiritual beings"?

I quote "Nancy Colier, a psychotherapist, interfaith minister, author, public speaker, mindfulness teacher, and relationship coach.
"Something in us knows, deep in the gut or the heart, perhaps at an unconscious level, that we are made of more than just the sum total of our thoughts, feelings and the life situation that we are living at the moment. We have a sense of being larger or more infinite than just our little "me." And for most of us, the idea that we humans are vaster than just finite and personal egos feels relieving, even if we can't quite access the knowing of it directly."
Another, "Spirituality is a broad concept with room for many perspectives. In general, it includes a sense of connection to something bigger than ourselves, and it typically involves a search for meaning in life. As such, it is a universal human experience—something that touches us all. People may describe a spiritual experience as sacred or transcendent or simply a deep sense of aliveness and interconnectedness."
Personally, I live my life with a knowing I am a spark of our creator, so there is more to life than what we perceive through our five senses - siva

Wise advice as always and I always preach balance, but my dirty sins never practice balance. Well, not on the things I like.

It depends on how independent one is to be able to follow their own path. Some get entangled with society norms

@Shiva49 II belong to that category now although it did take me time to follow that path.
You can read my thoughts here
'The invincible you'. That's the name of my poem with images of our garden as the background. Here is the video clip....

@allknowing Though we tend to blame the younger generation for their attitude, they are able to perceive the hypocrisy ingrained in older generations.
The famous "Child is Father of the Man" comes to mind. The children subconsciously want to change those that make no sense.
I edited this resonse after reading your link to your earlier post. Yes, we should not waste our lives trying to please others, ending up displeasing ourselves in the end - siva

This is the key to have it all in balance. We must guard against other's disturbances too.

I also think that we all have a body, mind, and a soul, that we should try to balance the inputs from.
Do we perhaps have more than just a body, mind and soul, though?
I suspect that we all have the most important part of us, and which is greater than all of these three.
We have the seed of God, our God-part, in us, and which allows us to always know what is God's will for us in our lives, and this is in our heart of love, the spiritual part of us all that is God in us.
This God part of us is more than being just our soul, and it talks to us continuously, if we listen, from a dream, through intuition, or sometimes directly via our soul, mind, or body, but often, it's just a knowing feeling of what way is right for us in our lives. We know that we know. We feel God in us. We know that we are greater than our just being us alone.

We should make sure that our spark-plug from God is always firing up with the fuel of his love in us

@Shiva49 Thanks Siva. That's a great answer that says it all. I can add nothing much to that.
Our soul proves who we are to us through the unconditional love connection to our creator, as you said there.

Yes, there is more to life than meets the eye - it is the unconditional love, connection, that we are never cut off from. However, we tend to overlook this vital ingredient and pay the price.
I have always felt our creator appears in different forms, contexts, experiences, for us to infer the message, get the right input. We come with a sumptuous package but we get carried away with only the packing, the casing!
The soul should always be awake every moment - then we are never cut-off from our creator. After all, we have nowhere else to go except return and merge with the Almighty. We may call our creator by any name but the reality of our (soul) connection is a fact of our existence siva

God gave us the gift of life and this world to live in. It's up to us to make the most of our life while here, appreciate the little things which make us happy, and to make the right choices to enrich that life. For life here is just a journey before we travel to another place...
