Do you use apple cider vinegar? Are there any side effects?

I've heard people take apple cider vinegar diluted as a health tonic as it helps with reflux and is good for health. I've also heard it can cause side effects like indigestion and weight loss. Have any of you used it? Have you experienced any side effects?

Yes, you want to dilute it. You may also want to add honey for added benefit and to take away some of the acidity of the ACV. You can also take a two teaspoons before a meal, however that would only be advisable for a short amount of time. I read once about a woman who drank ACV for weight loss. She drank it straight with no dilution. I am sure it ruined her stomach. I know that drinking it straight makes me shudder, it's that disgusting.

@pitstop It is very acidic so it makes me involuntarily shudder. If it's diluted it's not as bad. Oh, and make sure you get ACV with "The Mother" in it. As it is the healthiest and has the benefits you need. I should mention that I used it for Acid Reflux with good results.

@pitstop I would not use it if it did not taste well. It is a supposedly healthy vinegar. I haven't experienced any side effects. Did you ever taste it?

@janethwayne it's harmful if taken undiluted as it is acidic and can burn your throat and oesophagus. You need to dilute 5 ml in about 100 ml water.

@pitstop no I just sip it straight away and no mixture only pure. But I try it in a small amount only because what I am thinking is pure is better than with water.

Diluted apple cider vinegar is known for its health benefits. If you pour some diluted apple vinegar over your rice, it will help in better digestion - that's my personal experience.

@pitstop Not much, since I use only a teaspoon of diluted apple cider vinegar, whenever I have spicy curry with rice.

I did try it but it burnt my throat. I guess I didn't dilute it enough.

It has helped people lose weight by diminishing their appetite. I never heard of it causing indigestion. However, you should dilute it with water. It has many health benefits.
