MyLot: Does the title of a discussion catch your eye?

Before you even start reading an argument, I believe the first thing you read is its title, right? So, if the discussion has a title that catches your eye... Are you more likely to read it or doesn't it make a difference to you (because you'll end up reading it anyway)? Particularly, I strive to create interesting (and sometimes, funny) titles and with this, I hope to get your attention to read and comment on what I post.

Title is definitely important especially in posts from those members you don't read on a regular basis.

I don't pay so much attention on the tittle but the paragraph. If I see it is too long, I won't be reading. I'll be honest I get bored to read long stories. :(

@WiseGhots yeah right? Sometimes I am in a rush, and need to save up some time.

It's not just the title, I sometimes just read the contents then go on.

I think the title and sometime the photo catch my attention and they make me more likely to read the post. But sometimes when it's a myLotter I know well, I'll read the post anyway.

@WiseGhots If a title catches my eye I am more than likely to go into the discussion but have also found that there are titles that do not go with the discussion.

I think titles are important but sometimes that's all the readers focusses on and they miss the point of the discussion.

The title is vital, as we in some circles might say. For me, the title is what draws me in or tells me to set it aside. 99.9% of the time if I am in one's post it is because something about the title piqued my interest.

yes, usually the title or picture is what hooks me into at least reading the discussion post.

Yes, it does. The title must interest me before I will look at the discussion. Mind you, there are some myLotters who are virtually guaranteed to post something interesting no matter what the title so those ones I would read even if the title didn't inspire me
